Our history

A motel, inn and hotel

22 August 1964 saw the grand opening of Motell IKEA, a new "leisure-oriented IKEA initiative" with swimming pool, restaurant and 25 rooms. Ten years later it became IKEA Värdshus or 'Inn', with more rooms and more of a gastronomic focus. But as IKEA grew we grew, so today we're called IKEA Hotell, with 250 rooms, conference spaces and the new restaurant Grillen. Our vision has been the same since day one: to offer guests a good night's sleep at dream prices!
